Worship Ministry

Job Title: Camera Technician

Job Description: Camera Technicians will help the worship leader lead the church in worship that is God-centered and Christ-honoring. Volunteers must be able to demonstrate a level of proficiency at operating the camera(s) and video switching devices to give our remote/homebound audiences the best worship experience possible.

Job Requirements: Camera technicians must have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and live a God-honoring life. We will provide the necessary training for anyone who is interested in this position, but some previous experience is helpful. Volunteers must be available to attend the Sunday morning practices that they are scheduled for in order to get all the gear working and do a run-through.

Job Title: Sound Technician

Job Description: Sound Technicians will help the worship leader lead the church in worship that is God-centered and Christ honoring by assisting with the sound system. Responsibilities include setting up mics (and installing batteries in them as needed) and mixing/adjusting sound levels on the soundboard in an effort to provide the best worship experience possible OR working in the post-production room to set levels for the livestream during our Sunday morning services.

Job Requirements: Sound technicians must have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and live a God-honoring life. They must also demonstrate a level of proficiency in understanding both the equipment and the theory of how music is mixed. Technicians should be teachable and willing to take instruction from the Pastor of Worship Arts and they must be available to attend Wednesday evening practices and Sunday morning worship services on their assigned weeks.

Job Title: Worship Leader

Job Description: Assist the Pastor of Worship Arts in cultivating a multi-faceted, thriving worship ministry. Lead worship occasionally to give the church a variety of worship leadership styles and to allow the Pastor of Worship Arts to evaluate/take a step back and observe the worship team/ministry without leading. Help with song selection and prep work for practices (song set sent out to worship team no later than the Monday of the week that you are leading, chord charts uploaded and made ready for the team, Bible study prepared for Wednesday practices, and any other details leading up to the practice deemed necessary).

Job Requirements: Have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and live a God-honoring life.  Leaders must have a very high level of proficiency in their vocals and/or instrument that would be a benefit to the worship ministry.  In addition to the Worship Team Member requirements, volunteers would be expected to work alongside the Pastor of Worship Arts in service planning including song selection and prep work for practices (as defined above).

Job Title: Worship Team Member

Job Description: Immanuel is looking for worship team members to help the worship leader lead the church in worship that is God-centered and Christ-honoring. We have needs for vocalists (lead and harmony) as well as instrumentalists.

Job Requirements: Team members must have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and live a God-honoring life.  Volunteers must demonstrate a level of proficiency in their vocals or instrument that would be a benefit to the worship ministry.  The audition process is a non-threatening, three-step process that introduces volunteers to the team and allows us to get to know them and their abilities.  If accepted to the team, volunteers would be expected to communicate with the Pastor of Worship Arts regarding their schedule availability, attend the Wednesday evening practice before their assigned Sunday(s), and attend pre-service practice on their assigned Sunday(s).

Children's Ministry

Job Title: Elementary, Preschool, and Nursery Teachers

Job Description: We’re looking for a few loving individuals to teach our students using The Gospel Project Curriculum. Volunteers will provide assistance with the check-in/check-out process and manage indoor free-time activities. The material will be provided to support engaging small group activities, discussions and memorization strategies.  Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly slots are available for Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings.

Job Requirements: If you have a loving, gentle, and patient heart and you’re willing/eager to work with children, we’ll provide the training! Note: All children’s teachers need to be church members who have been attending Immanuel for six months and they must complete a background check.

Job Description: We’re looking for an individual to help organize and lead games and activities for our children’s ministry. This volunteer will be responsible for the check-in/check-out process during our large group worship, teaching, and final review time. Weekly slots are available for Sunday evenings.

Job Title: Nursery Supervisor

Job Description: We’re looking for a few loving individuals to oversee our nursery volunteers and to make sure our Adult: Child ratios are acceptable. Volunteers will check in/check out all babies/toddlers and collect necessary information from the parents. Volunteers will communicate regularly with the Director of Children’s Ministry on needs/concerns as they arise in the nursery.  Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly slots are available for Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings.

Volunteers will provide assistance with the check-in/check-out process, they’ll make sure all the baby's diapers have been checked and toys have been properly disinfected after each class.  Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly slots are available for Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings.

Job Description: We’re looking for a few loving individuals to help our special needs students participate in our regular ministry activities. Volunteers will provide assistance with the children’s ministry check-in/check-out process and supplement teaching times with personal discipleship when group participation is not possible. Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly slots are available for Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings.

Job Description: We’re looking for a few loving individuals to help our special needs students when calming space and one-on-one time is needed by overseeing our buddies and special needs students. Volunteers will monitor the check-in/check-out process and supplement teaching times with personal discipleship when group participation is not possible. Kitchen / Hospitality

Job Title: Food Preparation Volunteer

Job Description: We’re currently looking for individuals with flexible schedules to help with food prep for our large events. If you enjoy working with others and learning new skills, we would love your help!

Job Requirements: Experience using knives and other kitchen utensils is a plus. Must have a servant’s heart and be able/willing to follow directions.

Job Title: Sunday Dinner Lead

Job Description: Do you enjoy cooking meals for LARGE groups of people? We need help coordinating our Sunday Dinners! Dinner leads are responsible for planning the menu, shopping, and leading a team of volunteers in preparing/serving food to 150-200 people one Sunday evening per month.

Job Requirements: Dinner leads must be a good cook, ServSafe certified, experienced in preparing meals for large groups and able to provide direction (delegate tasks) to a team of volunteers. Must have a heart for hospitality and MUST be able to remain calm under pressure.

Facility

Job Title: Building Maintenance Team

Job Description: The Building Maintenance Team meets weekly to repair or maintain our facility. Examples of work include changing light bulbs and ballasts, electrical switches, running wires, painting, carpet maintenance, repairing doors, replacing furnace filters, etc.

Job Requirements: Some technical knowledge is helpful, but not necessary.

Job Title: Ground Crew

Job Description: Ground Crew volunteers help with lawn care, tree care, sprinkler maintenance, flower beds, pond maintenance, and other landscaping responsibilities once per week.

Job Requirements: Responsibilities will be determined/assigned by the grounds crew supervisor based on the existing needs and the experience of the team.

Youth Ministry

Job Title: High School Girls Small Group Leader

Job Description: Immanuel is looking for committed volunteers to join high school girls as they journey through life. Small group leaders are expected to attend all Sunday evening meetings throughout the school year as well as various weekend special events (approx. 2/semester) and Summer events. Volunteers will lead a small group (5-10) of students alongside another leader by facilitating meaningful conversation around the lesson for the evening (we provide questions to start the conversations) and pray with students. We ask all leaders to get to know both the students and their parents.

Job Requirements: Must be a mature believer who desires to care for students. We aren’t expecting perfection, but a general projection of growth and pursuit in your personal walk with Jesus must be evident. Volunteers must be available to attend all Sunday evening meetings throughout the school year as well as various weekend special events and summer events. Note: All Student Ministry volunteers need to have attended Immanuel for at least six months and they are required to complete a background check.

Safety Team

Job Title: Medical Team Member

Job Description: Medical team members assist with various medical needs/emergencies as they arise. Volunteers will carry pagers and walkie-talkies and respond to needs during their scheduled shift once per month during both Sunday morning services (requirement might change when we move into our new sanctuary). Volunteers will also check the supply levels/condition of our medical equipment on a regular basis to make sure things are in good shape. Note: Since this is an on-call position, medical team volunteers are also able to serve in another area while on call.

Job Requirements: Medical Team Members must be trained in first response or other equivalent medical training (including CPR). Knowledge of medical equipment (including AED machine) and familiarity with church safety protocols and guidelines is required. Team members will coordinate scheduling through their Safety Team Leader and online communication tools.

Job Title: Safety Leader

Job Description: Weekly Safety Leaders oversee a team of Safety Team Members one Sunday morning per month to help keep our congregation/building safe and secure. Volunteers are responsible for the coordination of security team member assignments and equipment on their assigned weeks, and they also help coordinate the response of medical, safety, and security-related matters. Safety Leaders facilitate the Sunday communication with the medical team as well as any scheduling changes to the First Impressions Coordinator.

Job Requirements: Volunteers will stay up to date on the security requirements of the church. They will work closely with the Safety Coordinator on matters of procedure and equipment and they will also work closely with the First Impressions Coordinator on matters of scheduling. A background check is required.

Job Title: Safety Team Member

Job Description: Safety Team Members follow Immanuel Church safety protocols and Emergency Action Guidelines to keep our congregation and building safe and secure. Team members are scheduled to serve one Sunday morning per month and they may also be asked to coordinate safety for other/additional events (scheduling will be coordinated through their weekly Safety Leader and online communications tools). All team members are asked to carry pagers and walkie-talkies on their assigned weeks.

Job Requirements: Volunteers will stay up to date on the security requirements of the church and they will work closely with their Safety Leaders. A background check is required.

First Impressions

Job Title: Connect Center Host

Job Description: Immanuel is looking for a few friendly/helpful people to staff our Connect Center booth on Sunday mornings! Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks including answering questions, pointing people in the right direction, and helping individuals sign up for events, etc. Connect Center Hosts basically serve as a church concierge; a go-to source for church information.

Job Requirements: Hosts must be familiar with details about our services, classes, and activities so they can share this information with others. They will also need to be familiar with the scheduling system website and the church website. Training will be available to those who are interested.

Job Title: First Impressions Weekly Host

Job Description: There are 4 First Impressions Weekly Hosts at Immanuel (one for each Sunday of the month). Hosts oversee the greeters, ushers, and Connect Center volunteers on their scheduled weeks. Responsibilities include holding a 5-minute assignment and prayer meeting with the team, making adjustments on the fly, and helping facilitate communication between greeters, ushers, medical and safety teams. Weekly Hosts report to the First Impressions Coordinator.

Job Requirements: Volunteers must be good at coordinating (and interacting with) volunteer teams, and they must be able/willing to use the volunteer management scheduling system. Weekly Hosts are asked to serve once per month.

Job Title: Greeter

Job Description: Immanuel is looking for warm, friendly individuals to welcome/greet people at the door and help newcomers and find their way around the facility. Volunteers will also help answer questions as they arise and direct people to the Connect Center when it’s appropriate to do so. We are currently looking for volunteers who are able to serve one Sunday per month or be backup greeters as needed.

Job Requirements: Volunteers must be willing to learn and follow operational procedures, and they should be friendly and helpful! Flexibility with schedule changes is a plus.

Job Title: Usher

Job Description: Immanuel is looking for a few friendly, helpful people to welcome congregants into the worship space, help them find seats, and provide additional direction to those needing assistance. They will also help collect the offering. Volunteers will try to get to know people and greet them by name if/when possible.

Job Requirements: Ushers are relational, kind, and caring people. They have a desire to help others and they are able to look around, see what needs to be done, and provide assistance to make people feel welcome and comfortable during the worship service.

Other Positions

Job Title: Adult Class Teacher

Job Description: Immanuel ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) teachers will dutifully study God’s word in preparation and present Biblical teaching, lessons, and discussion for their class period. Classes may be ongoing or short-term. Teachers will be able to present in both a lecture style and a discussion format.

Job Requirements: A teaching contract is required stating submission to church doctrine, commitment to their class, and example and support of church leadership. Teachers must be approved by the Adult Class Council, Elders, or Staff.

Job Title: Barista – Connections Cafe

Job Description: Our café team prepares food and beverages in the café on Sunday mornings. Volunteers make brewed coffee and hot chocolate in “group” quantity for church members and guests, they create specialty coffee drinks, cold brew coffee, and smoothies to order, and they help clean tables/equipment. Training will be provided.

Job Requirements:  Baristas should be friendly hosts to all who step into the café! Must be willing to learn/follow operational procedures. Volunteers will be asked to serve one Sunday per month from 8 am – 12:15 pm. Flexibility with schedule changes is a plus.

Job Title: Photographer

Job Description: The Immanuel Church photographer will capture 5-10 photos of various Immanuel activities and ministries, consistent with the Best Practices guidelines. Photographers will be scheduled to shoot 1-2 Sundays per month during normal Sunday morning ministries. Taking photos for events outside of the scope of Sunday morning is not required but greatly needed. Photography slots for special events can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Job Requirements: Previous experience, or desire to learn how to use a DSLR camera. You can shoot with your own camera or borrow the Church’s. Photographer application and submission of previous work required for consideration. A background check will be required.

Job Title: Prayer Partner

Job Description: Do you care about Immanuel church and do you know how much our pastors, staff, elders, ministries, communities, global partners, military families, and the sick/homebound need your prayer? If so, we would LOVE for you to join a small group of 3-5 others in prayer for 45 minutes on Sunday mornings once every 4 months. This position has minimal commitment but a BIG impact!

Job Requirements:  A love for the Lord, a love for Immanuel Church, and a love for people! Must be available for 45 minutes one Sunday morning every 4 months. No auditions are needed!

Job Title: Come to the Father Prayer Group

Job Description: Do you care about Immanuel church and do you know how much our pastors, staff, elders, ministries, communities, global partners, military families, and the sick/homebound need your prayer? If so, we would LOVE for you to join our small group of (5-10) women from 9 am-10 am on Wednesday mornings to pray for these needs and others (including your own). This position has a minimum commitment but a BIG impact!

Job Title: Women’s Ministry Team

Job Description: The Women’s Ministry Team is dedicated to building a community of godly women within Immanuel Church through loving encouragement, Biblical training, fellowship, and mentoring. The team meets every other month to coordinate activities, plan events, discuss Bible study training, and work on various other tasks. 

Job Requirements: Must have a passion/calling to minister to women and must be able to work well with others while having a willing spirit.

Job Title: Small/Micro Group Leader

Job Description: Micro/Small Group Leaders lead small groups of individuals in weekly or bi-weekly Bible study discussions, prayer, and fellowship. They help provide first-level support and care to group attendees and escalate needs to board/staff members as needed. They are the catalyst for making sure their group functions properly, assigning/delegating tasks to others, and training apprentices to make sure all the bases are covered.

Job Requirements: This is a leadership position that is relational in nature. Leaders must have a caring spirit for those in the group, be of reputable character, and commit to accurately representing God’s word in accordance with Immanuel’s doctrinal statement.
